Cruising Downtown and a Birthday Party

September 3, 2011 — Manchester held its 11th annual Cruising Downtown Friday, Saturday and Sunday. As in previous years, I've just attended the Saturday event when several blocks of Elm Street, the city's main drag, and several side streets are closed to traffic and taken over by show cars, spectators, bands and concessions. The weather was perfect, warm and a little humid. It felt more like a July day.

New this year were the Pit Girls, three pretty blondes in skimpy attire, roaming around and posing for pictures for anyone who asked. I spent a little over three hours there then left shortly after noontime because I was expected at my grandniece's birthday party in the afternoon. You can see my photos of the event at this link:
