Vintage Era and Chrome, Color & Fins

September 11, 2011 — After spending a few hours covering the Kiwanis Car Show the day before, I was tired Sunday morning, and I had two car shows to choose from, the Mount Washington Old Car Club in North Conway, New Hampshire, or the so-called Vintage Era and Chrome, Color & Fins at the Endicott Estate in Dedham, Massachusetts. I like North Conway and I usually enjoy the trip up there, but it's more than a two-hour drive. Dedham is just over an hour away. I had a notion to pass on both and just stay home, but it was another gorgeous late summer day, and it seemed a shame to throw it away.

So I decided on the show in Dedham, the shorter drive. Not only that, but I had been to the North Conway show three years ago and it didn't attract anywhere near as many cars as the Endicott event. My decision to go to Dedham turned out to be the right one. There was a large selection of rare and beautiful antique and classic cars and trucks, some beautifully restored, a few all original. It was the 10th anniversary of 9/11, and many cars were flying the Stars and Stripes, and patriotic and early 20th Century music was being piped from the Endicott mansion. My photo coverage of the event is at this link:
