October 22, 2011 — This may well have been the last car show of the season. The Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline, Massachusetts, hosts many car-related events year-round, but the so-called lawn shows like this one are only held spring through fall. Today's show featured only those vehicles no longer manufactured. Overall, it was a small turnout, dominated by Hudsons. There were six Hudsons and an Essex, which was made by Hudson. Several of the Hudsons were beautifully restored, a couple of others in original, but good, condition.
One outstanding entry was a stunning 1956 Packard Caribbean hardtop. This car had an honored spot by itself in front of the "castle," perfect for some great photos. Oldest car at the show was a 1910 Oakland.
I also did a walk-through inside the museum. There were a few recent additions I hadn't seen on previous visits, among them a gorgeous 1953 Oldsmobile Fiesta which was on loan, and a spectacular red 1929 Cord. You can see all of these cars at this link:
